Hi! I’m Jessica, otherwise known as KidMin Mama. I am a recent SAHM (stay at home mom) and have two sassy little girls named Hope and Zoey. My husband, Kyle, is an executive pastor of a church plant in Melissa, Texas. I love baking (but not cooking), singing, dancing with my girls, and binge watching Seinfeld. I have worked with children for over 15 years in ministry based settings. I was called to vocational ministry in 2000 and licensed to ministry in 2008. I have a BA in Religion with a minor in Child & Family Studies from Baylor University (Sic ‘em!) and a MA in Christian Education: Childhood Ministry from Dallas Baptist University. Mostly, I’m just passionate about telling kids about Jesus and having fun doing it!
Why KidMin Mama?
I grew up in a church plant, I am currently serving in a church plant and the problem still remains: where are the budget friendly resources for children’s ministry? It’s slim pickings! I’ve also been in mega churches when you are told “there is no money in the budget right now” and you’ve got an event coming up. So you hit up google and find little to nothing. Even Pinterest seems to repeat the same dated resources. Thus I had the idea for KidMin Mama, free and cheap resources that are easily reproduced, editable, and fun! The Lord placed this desire in my heart to help others share the good news of Jesus to children. Look around, subscribe to the site and pin away!
“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth” Deuteronomy 11:18-21
