May Verse Cards

Well, we’re halfway through May, but I finally made this month’s verse cards! For May I wanted our verses to focus on the fact that God’s Word is essential and eternal. These verses will help children remember WHY we need to memorize the Bible.

I again chose the most age appropriate translations of the verse and varied the length to provide a challenge for our older friends. Here are the verses for this month:

  • “I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11 (CSB)
  • “The grass dies, and the flowers fall. But the word of our God will live forever.” Isaiah 40:8 (ICB)
  • “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (ICB)
  • “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (ESV)

You can print these out and put them on the bathroom mirror, in your child’s lunch box or on the fridge. For older children, read the verse in context and discuss application in their own life. For younger kids, talk about what that verse means and what it tells us about God.

Please let me know how you’re using the verse cards with your own children or your children’s ministry. Want to see the past month’s cards? Click here.
